IT HelpDesk – Campus Support

IT HelpDesk – Campus Support is here to provide technical support for all students, faculty, and staff ranging from personal computer to in-classroom support. Our goal is to combine the tools of education and technology to enhance the learning and productivity across campus.


Available Services:

Walk-In Support

Customers can visit our offices with personal laptops and desktops, Liberty-owned laptops, or other mobile devices. We offer these services to our customers from two convenient office locations on campus. These locations include Green Hall 1539 and DeMoss Hall 2414

Onsite Support

This support involves members of our team visiting the area/office where the problem has been reported. These services are not offered for laptops, but rather for desktops, printers, vending machines, some office technology, etc.

Classroom Support & Equipment Reservations

Equipment Reservations available to Faculty and Staff Only.
This support involves members of our team responding to help calls created from classrooms. We work troubleshoot and resolve the issue quickly to help get the class up and running again.

Hardware Support

Full hardware support is offered for Liberty-owned devices.  Hardware support for personal devices only extends to warrantied Dell, Lenovo ThinkPad, HP and Apple computers.  Limited hardware support is offered for other computer manufacturers, but this only includes customer replaceable units (CRUs) as qualified by the manufacturer.

Software Support

We offer limited software support on all eligible software titles, which includes, but is not limited to; Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux based systems.

Printer Support

Helpdesk Campus Support supports all Liberty University owned and contracted printers.  As a part of this support, we evaluate requests for new printers, relocate printers as required by department moves, and troubleshoot to repair hardware and software issues.  Personal printers are not supported under this model.

Lifecycle Management

University owned computer equipment is also replaced at the end of their life under our Lifecycle Management program to ensure technology usefulness.

Loaner Computer Program

When available, loaner computers can be checked out by any Liberty University faculty or staff member.

Campus Support Policies

Guidelines:

  • Equipment has to be reserved 24 hours in advance via electronic reservation form.
  • Equipment can not be reserved for students unless for a classroom project and a faculty member has made the proper request for their use.
  • For all equipment that has been reserved for a weekend usage, equipment pick ups are made Friday afternoons after 3 pm unless specified by patron and returns are made Monday morning at 7:30 am.
