LU Post Office Launches New Package Tracking System

Liberty University Postal Services has recently implemented a new package tracking software that allows Liberty University students the opportunity to track their packages and allows the post office to better serve the students in the distribution of packages throughout campus.

Before the new system, parents or students had to wait hours to get information on the location of their package. The student waiting on her new iPod to arrive or the hungry freshman looking forward to the brownies that his mom mailed him would have to wait a minimum of 4 hours to find out the location of their package. Now, with the new software system, the post office can provide near-live delivery information.

This recent facelift on the package tracking process will not only benefit the students but the post office is also very excited about this advancement for many reasons. Previously, drivers would upload information when they returned to the office, taking up valuable delivery time as well as allowing opportunity for data loss. Now package delivery information is transmitted as the deliveries are made, which increases efficiency and will help prevent the loss of data.
