Lynchburg, Va. – Liberty University Information Services is proud to announce the grand opening of the IT Market Place! Through a partnership with Gov Connection, Liberty now offers you a single location to purchase laptops, software, and computer peripherals at discounted prices. What does this mean for you?

Recommended Laptops Purchases

In the past, Liberty has worked with Dell and Lenovo/IBM to provide recommended computers at discounted prices. These recommended models will still be offered through the IT Market Place and you can do side-by-side comparisons without bouncing between different web sites. The hardware components of these laptops have been specially selected with college and the LU campus in mind and they come standard with a 4-Year warranty, so that you receive the highest level of support through your time at Liberty. The HelpDesk now offers hardware support to student laptops that are purchased through Dell, Lenovo, and Apple and are still under warranty. So, whether it’s a hardware problem, data backup, software reinstall, reformat, virus and malware removal, or any number of problems that you may have with your laptop, the HelpDesk can take care of it.

Software Purchases

Through our Microsoft Campus License Agreement, Liberty University gets incredible deals on Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007. Windows Vista is the operating system that replaces Windows XP, but you don’t have to upgrade to work on the network here at Liberty. Microsoft Office 2007 is an essential software suite for college, consisting of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and several other applications that are really helpful in staying organized. On top of that, the IT Market Place also offers discounted pricing on: Apple OS X Leopard, Final Cut, and iLife, Avid Media Composer, Finale, SPSS, Mathmatica, and many other software titles.
