Liberty University"ALSO I HEARD THE VOICE OF THE LORD, SAYING, WHOM SHALL I SEND, AND WHO WILL GO FOR US? THEN SAID I, HERE AM I; SEND ME." ISAIAH 6:8
Founded in cooperation with Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Virginia in 1979, the Liberty University Eagle Battalion began with five cadets and two cadre members. After disbanding in 1984, the Eagle Battalion was reestablished in 2001 as a partnership school with University of Virginia’s Cavalier Battalion based out of Charlottesville, Virginia.
Today’s Eagle Battalion cadets experience a combination of daily active duty along with a Christ-centered college education, which results in a well-rounded social and military experience.
Many cadets receive Army ROTC scholarships, Army National Guard Tuition Assistance, Liberty scholarships and/or are soldiers in the Virginia Army National Guard or Army Reserve.
The Eagle Battalion continues to grow numerically and competitively. Cadet graduates from the Eagle Battalion currently serve in various branches of the U.S. Army across the globe while fulfilling Liberty’s founding mission of serving Christ among the nations.
