The Salvation Army of Greater Lynchburg has been serving Lynchburg, Campbell, Bedford, Amherst, Appomattox and Nelson counties for more than 100 years. Along with disaster relief, we provide assistance with emergency shelter housing, financial assistance with rent, utilities, food and clothing, classes that help with life skills, youth community enrichment programs, feeding programs for the hungry and many other social services that benefit the working poor as well as the homeless populations.
Help by calling and scheduling bell ringers for our Red Kettle holiday season. Individuals serving in this capacity will be working entering data into the computers, calling and scheduling volunteers, and confirming volunteer sign-up times.
Individuals need to have good phone skills, basic computer knowledge, enjoy talking with people and have a love for serving others. We have several times available during the month of October from morning to early evening Monday through Friday, so we can be flexible around student schedules.
