Biography
Tim Barclay holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Liberty University. Dr. Barclay has a diverse background. In addition to clinical practice, he is a retired police officer from the Pittsburgh, PA area where he served for 20 years in the patrol division and criminal investigations bureau. Dr. Barclay has maintained a clinical practice for many years and developed treatment programs for juvenile offenders for the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas. Dr. Barclay also served at Piedmont Psychiatric Center in Lynchburg, VA. He specializes in the treatment of adolescent behavior disorders, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and obesity. He served in the U.S. Army and is a graduate of the U.S. Army Ranger Course. Dr. Barclay is an active researcher in the areas of resilience and the clinical use of positive psychology and well-being. He is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC), and the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC).
