CSER 532-001: BRIDGING THE GAP URBAN MINISTRIES
Supervisor: Jodie Walton III (434-515-2824 or
Email)

Bridging The Gap Urban Ministries is an organization comprised of area college students and community residents focused on using their gifts and talents to bridge the gaps between the church (meaning the body) and the world. These gap can be cultural, financial, or social just to name a few. Our mission is to engage the culture in such a way that anyone that comes in contact with our ministry or our members will be loved, served, and saved. We create and participate in service projects, performances (step, dance, mime, and more), concerts and shows, competitions, as well fellowship amongst each other.

All potential members must go through a 3 week training/discipleship period prior to joining our this ministry team. This process includes clothing physical, mental, and spiritual training, as well as clothing requirements. Informational meetings are held to explain this process in full prior to people joining.

"Be challenged. Be changed."

CSER 539-001: YOUNG LIFE MINISTRY
Supervisor: Allen Miller (528-5560 or
Email)

In its 75 years of outreach to teens, Young Life has become one of the largest international youth ministries in the world. We are currently involved in outreach work in over 500 locations in the United States, including right here in Lynchburg, and in 95 foreign countries. The very heart of Young Life's relational approach to sharing the gospel is our meeting teens on their own turf. We become involved in their world by consistently spending time with them wherever that may be; and as a result, we are able to communicate a sincere concern for their lives, win their friendship, and model the Great Gospel message. We provide a weekly “club” meeting that is designed to be attractive to non-church teens and is an excellent outreach tool for our Christian teen friends. We also provide a weekly discipleship training meeting we call "Campaigners". We work with high school and middle school students!  YoungLife also provides, summer camp trips, intern opportunities throughout the world, and an annual missions trip to China where leaders teach English at a University there for a week. Once a week all of our volunteer leaders (which includes 60+ Liberty students) meet for singing, prayer, sharing, community building, and training. The time commitment for a leader (after training) is 10 - 15 hours per week. YoungLife also runs CollegeLife here at LU.  If interested check out www.YoungLife.org and email or call Allen Miller, the Area Director.

CSER 553-001: GOSPELINK
Supervisor: Jill Murphy (485-7007 or
Email)

Gospelink exists to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the nations.  We believe this objective is best accomplished by working alongside indigenous leaders who are actively serving in Christian ministry. Our role is to enhance their efforts by connecting them to the global church.

We currently assist over 1300 nationals in 14 nations. Our Lynchburg office (located in Wyndhurst) processes preacher applications, profiles, reports, and donor payments. CSER students assist with data entry, filing, report processing, mailings and special IT/web/graphic design projects. We love to match students' talents and passions with office projects.

CSER 567-001: THE MASTER'S INN
Supervisor: Luke Spoon (434-369-5053 or
Email)

The purpose of Master's Inn is to reach young people for Christ, and to assist those who already know Him to draw closer in their daily walk. During the school year, we host weekend retreats, banquets, ski weekends and Christian School get-a-ways. Our goals are the same for each of these events; to being young people to Christ.  Our program is such that we can offer a great deal of "hands-on" experience to ministry-minded college students who are wiling to be used.
