Easy/Everybody (E)This collection contains fictional picture books for all ages plus board books, pop-up books, alphabet books, and counting books. Children's Fiction (FIC)This collection contains independent reading fiction titles for children in grades 1-6. Classics, award winners, Christian fiction, and contemporary titles are included. Young Adult Fiction (YA)This collection contains fiction titles for grades 7+. Classics, award winners, Christian fiction, and contemporary titles are included. Children/Young Adult Biography (B)This collection contains individual and family biographies for children and young adults of all ages. Children/Young Adult Nonfiction (Dewey)Information about making a costume, cooking a dish from Africa, or sending a bill through Congress, can all be found in this collection. Bible stories, as well as books about history, science, art, sports, language, mathematics and technology written in vocabulary that children can understand fill these shelves. Educational/Children’s PeriodicalsMany educational journals are available on-line. Titles for which hard copy subscriptions are maintained are housed in the periodical room of the main library. Current issues of several children’s magazines are housed in the curriculum library. |

Textbooks/Teaching Guides (CUR)Textbooks available reflect a wide variety of teaching methods and publishers including both secular and Christian points of view. Many sets of texts include, teacher's editions, workbooks, transparencies, and other guides for creating lesson plans. Big books, posters, games, and manipulatives are supplied for many subject areas. English-Second Language (ESL)This collection contains materials that assist international students with English language acquisition. In addition, the collection contains materials that help prepare teachers who will work with students for whom English is their second language. Standardized TestsA wide variety of testing materials designed to measure aptitude, achievement, and learning styles, are kept on reserve for use in the curriculum library. Scores (SCO)Scores for classical pieces, popular musicals and worship songs are available for circulation. Audio-Visual MaterialsThe audio-visual collection includes CDs, DVDs, and software. CDs include both musical CDs and audiobooks and other non-musical sound recordings. DVDs include children’s titles, documentaries, classics, curriculum-related, and Christian selections. All items are available for listening and viewing at designated listening stations, and many may circulate. |
