Welcome to the Undergraduate Writing Center Blog—we’re so glad you’re here! You may have come here for some Turabian advice, or to see how awkward a writing-center-themed blog is. Sure, it’s awkward, but we love awkwardness! That’s what we’re about here – just ask Nathaniel, one of our coaches:
But why lurk around the blog when you can come see us in real life? Here are three things the UWC can help you with right now:
This is what you probably want when you go to the Writing Center, and this is a lot of what we do. Fine-tuning basically describes any work to improve your paper it after it’s partly or completely written. Got questions about grammar, organization, or the content of your paper? You’re in the right place! This is how you take a good paper and make it great!
Maybe you’re thinking that the Writing Center is the place to go after you’ve finished a paper, and to be fair, most of the time that’s the type of work we do. But we love to help students work on formulating their ideas and beginning to write their papers. Even if all you have is your essay prompt, we would still love to work with you to help get the ideas flowing.
This one is exactly what it sounds like. MLA, APA, and Turabian are hard—we can help you figure them out.
Do you have a writing need that isn’t covered in this list? No problem! Stop into the Writing Services anytime (that we’re open), and we’d love to help! Whatever your experience or writing needs, the Undergraduate Writing Center is here for you.
