A Great Christmas Break

Yesterday, a new semester began for me and the 100,000 Liberty students on campus and around the world. My semester will be filled with new challenges and experiences, and I’m thankful that I had an entire month off before it began.

If you’re in high school, you may be wondering what to expect, when you return home for your first Christmas break as a college students. Here are a few things that I have done over my breaks, and you will likely find yourself doing as well.

College life is a lot of fun, but it also contains a lot of hard work. As the fall semester comes to an end, you will likely become extremely busy studying for final exams and completing final projects. In fact, at the end of your busy semester, you may find yourself thinking more about sleep than Christmas!

When I finished my last exam on Dec. 11, sleep was definitely the number one thing on my mind. After exams, projects, late nights, and early mornings; I couldn’t wait to see my own bed!

After finishing the semester, sleep may be the only thing on your mind!

Spending Valuable Time with Friends and Family

At college, you will meet hundreds of people and develop incredible friendships, but you will also be away from your friends and family at home. Christmas break is a great time to catch up with your old friends and spend time with your family. After several months away, this time will be even more valuable to you.

Over the break, I got the opportunity to be with my family and catch up with many of my friends in Central Florida. I hadn’t seen my friends in months, so I enjoyed spending time with them even more.

Celebrating the Season

Obviously, the main reason for Christmas break is celebrating Jesus's birth through the Christmas season. After some time away from home, Christmas will probably be even more fun for you. The home-made food will taste even better and celebrating with your family will be even more valuable.

Getting Ready

After the Christmas lights are taken down and your tree is at the side of the road, you will probably begin thinking about the upcoming semester. As you began preparing for your journey back to campus, you may be reluctant to leave home and get back to work, but you will probably be excited to reunite with your friends and get back to college life.

It's always great to be reunited with friends after the break.

Throughout my time at Liberty, my college breaks have been filled with the things I’ve listed, and I hope that your breaks will be filled with the same.  After a month off, I’m ready for the new challenges and experiences that await me this semester, and I can’t wait to share them with you as I finish off the first half of my time at Liberty!
