Create a Persistent Link

You can generate direct links for BlackBoard to full-text articles in many of the Library's journal databases. Online and off-campus students can use these links to go directly to the article without logging in to the Off-Campus Access (EZproxy) page.

For an article link to work off campus, it must begin with: "http://www.liberty.edu:2048/login?url=" The utility below adds this automatically.

Note: Some databases, including Lexis/Nexis Academic, do not support this feature.

General Database Directions

Gale, JSTOR, Science Direct, etc.

Type or paste the URL of the desired resource into the box below and press "Submit".

Ebsco Directions

Ebsco Persistent links already include the off-campus access information, so they do not need to be run through the utility at the top if this page.

  • Open the article you want to link, select "Permalink" from the Tools menu.

  • A Persistent link will appear at the top of the article, as shown below.

  • Copy and paste this link into BlackBoard as an 'External Link', and it will link directly to the article in the database.

ProQuest Directions

ProQuest databases now include proxied links so you don’t need to use the utility.

  • Click on Citation/Abstract.

  • Toward the bottom of the Citation/Abstract page you will see “Document URL” which contains the http://www.liberty.edu:2048/login?url prefix.

  • Copy and paste this link into BlackBoard as an 'External Link', and it will link directly to the article in the database.
