Liberty University partners with the Greater Lynchburg Transit Company (GLTC) to operate one of the most comprehensive transportation systems found at large institutions. Free bus service is provided as frequently as every 2-3 minutes.
A commuter bus route has been added to provide faster service to commuters living at Walden Pond Apartments, Forestbrook Apartments, County Green and Old Mill Townhomes. There is also a separate bus route that provides service to commuters living at Cornerstone Apartments.
The tunnel will only be accessible by those with a Liberty-issued Flames Pass. While it will be open at all times, commuter students, faculty and staff will only be able to enter the tunnel from the campus side; they will be allowed to return from the Wards Road side the same day they enter and up until 3 a.m. the day after. Students who live on campus will be able to enter both sides at all times. Each person must swipe his or her Pass (no piggybacking will be allowed).
Looking for a carpool or ride to campus? Log-in to Transit Services Carpool-Ride Finder to find other students who are coming to campus.
Commuter students can register for the carpool program, which gives commuters access to reserved carpool parking spaces on campus. Register your vehicle with LUPD for on campus parking access, and view the parking summaries to determine which areas you are allowed to park.
