Special Education (grades K-12) prepares the candidate to teach students with learning disabilities, emotional disturbance, and mental retardation. Undergraduate candidates who plan to teach special education will major in Special Education Integrated Studies with concentrations in Special Education and one core area. The Dual Endorsement option includes Special Education AND Elementary Education by adding two optional courses, EDUC 322/324 and field experiences/student teaching in both settings.
Candidates who have already earned a bachelor’s degree should choose an M.A.T. in Special Education.
