Financial Aid Checklist

Step 1 – Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
In order to avoid delays in processing your aid, the U.S. Department of Education must receive your FAFSA by March 1 of each year in which you wish to receive financial aid.

Step 2 – Apply for Law School Admission and Scholarships
If you are accepted for admission, you will be notified of any scholarship award following your admission notification.

Step 3 – Confirm Attendance
Complete and return the Admission Acceptance Agreement and the Scholarship Agreement and pay the confirmation deposit.

Step 4 – Review the Financial Aid Award Notification Package
You will receive a Financial Aid Award Package once the FAFSA analysis has been processed and you have been accepted by the law school.

Step 5 – Confirm Acceptance of Federal Student Aid
Complete Entrance Counseling and sign the Master Promissory Note (MPN) for the Direct Unsubsidized Loans at www.studentloans.gov.

Step 6 -- Submit School of Law Work Request Form, if applicable
If you desire part-time employment, the School of Law must receive, and the Dean must approve, a School of Law Work Request Form each semester in which a position of employment is desired.  Forms may be obtained from and submitted to the Director of Student Affairs.

Step 7 – Submit Federal Work-Study Employment Application, if applicable
If you desire part-time employment, submit a Work Study Application on the University's Human Resources website. The University will not secure employment for you and a position is not guaranteed.

Step 8 – Notify the School of Law of any outside scholarships
If you expect to receive outside scholarships or any additional aid, notify the School of Law by email lawadmissions@liberty.edu.

Step 9 -- Complete Financial Check-In
Log in to ASIST and complete financial check-in each semester.
