Aliah Lucyanne Fonteh

Where is your favorite spot on campus to study? My favorite spot to study is on the 3rdfloor of the library in the deep quiet room.

Where is your favorite spot in Lynchburg to have fun? Since one of my favorite pastimes is enjoying good food/dessert in the company of great friends, I would say that my favorite spot is Mister Goodies.

What is your major and when will you graduate? Currently I am pursuing a M.S. degree in Biomedical Sciences, and I graduate May 2019

Do you have a favorite scripture? My favorite Scripture is Psalm 54:4, “Surely God is my help, the LORD is the one who sustains me”.

Where are you from? Quartz Hill, CA

Is there any volunteer or service activities you do at Liberty University or within the Lynchburg community? I work as a GSA for the Department of Biology & Chemistry, where I teach CHEM 107L. I serve as an officer for the Graduate Biomedical Science Club. In addition, I just joined the Graduate Student Advisory Board and the Peer Health Educator team. I anticipate volunteering a few hours a month at the Free Clinic of VA in downtown Lynchburg.

Any advice or encouragement to give to your undergraduate sisters and brothers in Christ? My fellow siblings, I challenge you to commit the following Scriptures to heart: Proverbs 16:3, Proverbs 3:5-6, and 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. Try your best despite your busy schedule to prioritize your walk with the Lord, to cultivate a healthy lifestyle, to maintain Biblical relationships and fellowship, and to implement self-care routines into your daily schedule.
