Dr. Robertson is the chair of the Pre-Law program. After arriving at the Helms School, Dr. Robertson, along with Dean Akers, took on the arduous task of revising the Pre-Law program in order to assist students in focusing on career goals related to Pre-Law Studies. This included designing and redesigning courses such as Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, Legal Research and Writing, Appellate Advocacy, Negotiations, Logic and Legal Reasoning, and Legal Ethics.

Prior to accepting a position with Liberty University, Dr. Robertson was a partner in the law firm of Allen and Gooch located in Lafayette, Louisiana. During his 14 years with Allen and Gooch, Dr. Robertson had a commercial and insurance defense practice in which he represented public and private entities with regard to liability, employer liability, property, construction, and contractual matters. Dr. Robertson was fully responsible for managing the clients’ files for litigation purposes; drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts for public and private projects; drafting, reviewing and amending corporate documents for private entities; functioning as in-house counsel for private firms with regard to employment, contractual and/or regulatory matters.
