The 3 "P's" of Landing a Job

Be Professional

When you submit an application to a potential employer, make your application stand out. Be sure all pieces are checked for errors (spelling, grammatical, etc.). In interviews, dress professionally, avoid extremes (language, attire, appearance), and be confident.

Be Proactive

After you have submitted applications, do a search on Liberty's website for contact information for each department or department head. Send follow-up emails, drop off a résumé, cover letter, and letters of recommendation in person, introducing yourself to your potential employer.

Be Prepared

If you are chosen for an interview, do research beforehand. Have a basic knowledge of the department you are interviewing with, how they function within Liberty University, and what role they play. Come prepared with your résumé, be early, and make sure to know the basic answers to general interview questions.
