CMHC Counseling Supervisor Module

We thank you for willingness to serve as a site supervisor for Liberty University's Residential Clinical Mental Health Counseling for Practicum/Internship students. 

Qualifications

In order to document that you are eligible to serve as a counseling site supervisor you must meet the following qualifications:

  1. Hold a minimum of a master's degree in counseling or a related profession with equivalent qualifications
  2. Hold appropriate professional licenses and/or certifications (i.e. you must hold a state license to practice at an independent level in counseling)
  3. Have a minimum of two years of professional experience in the counseling profession 
  4. Currently working in a counseling or academic setting 
  5. Have a knowledge of Liberty University's Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) program requirements as outlined on the CMHC Home Page and Program Handbook
  6. Have appropriate training in counselor supervision, which you can obtain through:
    1. Liberty's CMHC Counselor Supervision Training Module or
    2. Documenting previous training using the Counselor Supervision Training Verification form

Liberty's faculty will assess potential practicum/internship counselor supervisors for the required experience and credentials as required by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
