Finish College In 3 Years

Earning your college degree is a valuable investment of your time and resources, but it takes hard work. Let us show you how to finish college faster and how to make it more affordable. You can get your bachelor’s degree in less than 4 years by working on college credit before you even get to Liberty. The credit-earning programs below will show you how to cut college costs by finishing early.

Test Out of College Classes

College-Level Examination Program (CLEP)

Here’s a great way to earn credit through your practical experience or previous study. The CLEP includes 34 tests covering a variety of subjects and is available at testing locations across the nation.

Advanced Placement (AP)

Earn college credit in high school! College Board, which administers the SAT, gives you the unique opportunity to earn credit through specific coursework offered by your high school. When you complete this coursework, you’ll end the semester by taking the AP test, and your score may translate into college credit.

Institutional Challenge Examination (ICE)

In addition to national credit-granting tests, Liberty University also offers exams unique to our courses that are developed by our faculty. ICE is only available to residential students, and the credit can only be applied at Liberty. Through ICE, you can get credit for classes not offered through CLEP or AP.

Alternative High School Programs

Khan Academy

While actual college credit is not offered through this program, Khan Academy is a not-for-profit organization that provides free learning in many different areas such as history, physics, and computer programming.

International Baccalaureate (IB)

International Baccalaureate (IB) is a pre-university program that provides a demanding two-year curriculum that's incorporated in your junior/senior years of high school. You can study six subjects and earn credit based on your final exam. For a full listing of how these credits would transfer, visit the Registrar's IBO Transfer Guide.

Dual Enrollment: High School + College

Community College Classes

Most of Liberty's general education classes are comparable to courses offered at other schools, and many of these can be taken while you are in high school. Some schools, like the community colleges in Virginia and North Carolina, even offer classes already pre-approved to transfer to Liberty. You can use our transfer guides and transient approval forms to confirm that your dual enrollment credits will transfer.

Liberty University Online Academy (LUOA)

The LUOA dual enrollment program lets you launch into college early under the guidance of a personal Academic Advisor. LUOA classes provide a flexible learning platform for high school juniors and seniors. You can even graduate high school with a completed Associate of Arts degree!

Summer Classes

Take college classes at Liberty University during the summer through this non-traditional dual enrollment program. You’ll get a lower tuition rate, no transfer hassles, and the same quality classes guaranteed from Liberty University.
