The M.S. in Biomedical Sciences is a 39-hour program for post-baccalaureate academic enhancement designed to:

  1. Improve students’ academic record and increase their chances of admission to medical school and related graduate programs

  2. Equip those who wish to teach at the post-secondary level

  3. Provide a graduate-level degree for those seeking advancement in private industry


Admissions

Requirements

All admissions documents must be received by June 15th to be considered for the Fall 2017 cohort.

 

One Year Program

  • $50 application fee (beginning Fall 2016, the application fee will be deferred and assessed during Financial Check-In)
  • Regionally or nationally accredited Bachelor’s degree with at least a 3.0 GPA for admission in to the One year program. (2.75 to 2.99 may be admitted on caution)
    • Official College Transcripts (must be mailed directly from your college to Liberty University in an official, sealed envelope or sent via an official electronic sending service such as E-Script, Parchment, National Clearinghouse, etc.)

    • If you would like for Liberty University to request that your college transcripts be submitted and do not have a current balance at your university, please complete the Transcript Request Form.
  • 1 year General Chemistry with lab.
  • 1 year Biology with lab.
  • 1 semester of Organic Chemistry with residential lab (2 semesters recommended).
  • 1 semester of Physics with residential lab (2 semesters recommended).
  • Any four of the following course:
    • One year of Anatomy/Physiology OR one semester of Physiology OR one Semester of Anatomy
    • One semester of Genetics
    • One semester of Microbiology
    • One semester of Cell Biology
    • One semester of Biochemistry
  • One Semester of Biostatistics is recommended but not required.
  • Students must submit the following test with a minimum score of:
    • MCAT - New scoring system (2015 and later): composite score of 493; Old scoring system (prior to 2015): 20 for 1 year program
  • Three Recommender Contact Information for a professional, academic, or personal recommender
  • Self Certification Form (for students in the final term of their bachelor's degree)
  • Current Liberty undergraduate students seeking preliminary acceptance into a graduate program must complete a Graduation Application through their ASIST Account.
  • Additional admissions requirements for international students

Two Year Program

  • Self Certification Form (for students in the final term of their bachelor's degree)
