Dr. Sharon Hähnlen

Dr. Hähnlen joined the faculty of Liberty Baptist College (now Liberty University) before there were paved roads on campus.  Dr. Hähnlen has taught at every level, from elementary school through high school to college in Iowa, Ohio, Indiana, Montana, and Virginia.  At Liberty University, she has taught French, German, English, Speech 101, Education courses, and Freshman Seminar, as needed.  She currently teaches French and language education courses residentially at the undergraduate level, supervises Licensure Candidates in Spanish and Teaching English as a Second/Foreign Language in field experiences (Practicums, Internships, Student Teaching), serves on Honor's committees, teaches online graduate courses in language education, and chairs doctoral committees for candidates in all aspects of world languages.

Dr. Hähnlen is married to the Rev. Dr. Lee W. Hähnlen, former professor of Church History and Philosophy at Liberty University and current pastor of the historic Hat Creek Presbyterian Church, organized in 1742 by the Rev. Gilbert Tennent.  Dr. Hähnlen enjoys classical string and Southern Gospel music, reading, sewing, and, currently, house demolition and remodeling.  She and her husband have two children and two cats.
