Centra is a 508-bed multispecialty hospital system comprised of Lynchburg General Hospital and Virginia Baptist Hospital, in Lynchburg, and Southside Hospital located in Farmville. Along with their extensive community provider network, Centra has agreed to provide significant clinical training opportunities for LUCOM’s forthcoming students.
Centra has received several accolades of the years for their dedication to quality patient care. Included among these accolades are certification by the Joint Commission as an Acute Heart Attack Center and a Primary Stroke Center. In addition, Centra is rated among the top hospitals in patient satisfaction for several years in a row and the Alan B. Pearson Regional Cancer Center has received full accreditation with commendation by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons.

Centra Virginia Baptist Hospital (CVBH), founded in 1924, is a 161-licensed bed facility serving central Virginia with quality health care for the whole family. CVBH is the regional hospital for women's and children's care, mental health and chemical dependency treatment, outpatient surgery, physical rehabilitation, home health, pain management, wound care, and more.
