The Center for Medical and Health Sciences (CMHS) is the education facility for Liberty's College of Osteopathic Medicine (LUCOM) and School of Health Sciences. Officially opened on Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, for the inaugural LUCOM Class of 2018, the building is comprised of more than 140,000 square-feet. The four-story facility atop Liberty Mountain offers breathtaking views of the valley and the Blue Ridge Mountains to the north and west.

LUCOM is established as the second osteopathic college in the state and the 30th in the country with clinical rotation opportunities at core sites, with an emphasis in Southern and Southwest Virginia. The location of LUCOM, in one of the traditional textile and tobacco areas of the state, Campbell County, emphasizes the concentration of developing community based physicians with a mission to provide quality medical access for underserved patients. All of which by a joint effort and financial grant from the Virginia Tobacco Commission.
