Welcome to Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Located in South Central Virginia in the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and along the shores of the historic James River, our faculty, staff and students embrace all those who possess a servant’s heart, a scientist’s curiosity and the desire to improve the lives of others through the practice of medicine.
The faculty, staff and administration of Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine are committed to honoring and advancing the culture and philosophy of Liberty University as a Christian institution. As a community of professionals, we strive to advance the osteopathic philosophy and heritage. We advocate for the body’s inherent ability for wellness and patient centered medical care embracing body, mind and spirit. As educators and medical professionals, we strive to advance medical knowledge, the science and art of the practice of medicine and promote health policy that advances access to quality medical care for our patients. We have committed ourselves to advancing the lives, health and the professional careers of our students and faculty.
Working together, we recruit and educate talented individuals with a commitment to service to become osteopathic physicians. We have as a goal, the graduation of students who are prepared to succeed in any graduate medical education program while maintaining an emphasis on preventive medicine, wellness, primary care and community based practices. Recognizing the needs of underserved populations and the outreach missionary precepts of many of our students and faculty, we are committed to ensuring that our graduates have the foundation of knowledge, skills and competencies that will enable them to meet the needs of patients across the globe.
We are dedicated to producing physicians who are knowledgeable, skilled and competent, while remaining founded in professionalism, ethics and Christian principles.
The college strives to produce physicians with the skills required to remain lifelong learners, the desire to contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge and the passion to be of service to their patients throughout their professional careers.
If LUCOM sounds like the kind of professional culture and environment that fits your personal and professional goals, we invite you to learn more about us and consider joining us as we move forward in our attempts to improve the lives of all.
