Military Graduation 2019

Military Graduate Recognition Ceremonies

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I RSVP to my ceremony?

Only graduates planning to attend one of the recognition ceremonies are required to RSVP. To submit your RSVP, you will need to click the link for your ceremony and fill out the survey completely. After the last question is answered, your RSVP will be automatically submitted. You will not receive a confirmation email, but we will be notified of your attendance and will be looking forward to seeing you there!

How do my friends and family RSVP to my ceremony?

When you RSVP to your ceremony as a participating graduate, you will be asked how many guests will be attending with you. Friends and family members should not fill out a separate RSVP unless they are also a graduating military student planning to participate in one of the recognition ceremonies.

Can my family sit with me at my ceremony?

At each ceremony, the graduates will be seated together to receive their commemorative coin. Families are welcome at both ceremonies and will have their own reserved section for seating.

What should I wear to my ceremony?

The attire for both recognition ceremonies is business professional. Participating graduates may wear business professional, appropriate military dress uniforms, or full graduation regalia (cap and gown).

Will I receive a military cord?

Graduating service members and veterans can pick up their military graduate cord at Graduate Check-In. Graduating military spouses do not receive a military graduate cord, as they are reserved for service members and veterans. Visit Liberty.edu/Commencement or email commencement@liberty.edu for more information about the check-in process and where to pick-up your cord.

What accommodations for food/restroom will be available at my ceremony?

Each ceremony will have restrooms available on site for your convenience or if you need to change your clothes before/after the ceremony.

Please note that the Military Spouse Graduate Recognition Ceremony begins promptly at 10 a.m., so you will need to make arrangements to arrive on campus before then. The Military Graduate Recognition Ceremony is directly following the Baccalaureate service later that evening at 7:30 p.m. Due to the time(s) of your specific ceremony, you may want to schedule time to eat either before or after your ceremony. There are several on-campus dining options available, which you can explore on the Liberty Dining website. Please note that food and drink is strictly prohibited in the Concert Hall and will not be allowed in the Military Spouse Graduate Recognition Ceremony venue.

Who should I contact if I have additional questions?

If you have any other questions regarding the military recognition ceremonies, please email militaryoutreach@liberty.edu.
