We are excited about the members of the Liberty University Marching Band this fall, and their parents and families who support thier sons and daughters while they attend Liberty and perform in our band!  Parents, will you please read this Band Parent letter for information about this fall, our schedule, and Band Parents' Day?

We are excited to offer an excellent means of seeing the Liberty University Marching Band perform by participating in our Annual Band Parents’ Day.  Our twenty-eighth annual Band Parents’ Day is scheduled on Saturday, October 29, 2016, and I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to attend.  This is always one of the highlights of the marching season, and I am inviting all band members’ parents and their families to participate. Your day will be filled with activities that will give you an excellent idea of the varied schedule involved during our typical game days. 

We will begin with “Check-in” at 7:30 a.m. at the stadium/continental breakfast, followed by rehearsal, a Luncheon Banquet at 11:00 a.m. and much more!  You will participate in our devotional period, a time together when we will focus on our spiritual theme, “Go The Distance." We will then attend the football game in Williams Stadium, where Liberty University will face the Gardner-Webb University, and you will have reserved seating beside our marching band.

Our past Band Parents’ Days have been a time of renewed fellowship among family members.  Read thoroughly the enclosed materials with the letter, and if you have any further questions, please call (434)582-7363.  Please feel free to dress in casual attire for all the events of the day.

VERY IMPORTANT this year: Band Parents’ Day AND LU Family Weekend are the same weekend. Please make your hotel reservations now.  Hotel rooms will fill up soon! You can find a current link to Local Accomodations in our area below.

Final Ticket Purchase Deadline: September 29, 2016

Cost

The cost for the entire day’s activities on Saturday is $30.00 for each adult, $18.00 for youth ages 6-18, and free for children to age 5. The Band Parents' Day ticket includes continental breakfast, luncheon banquet, packet for the day, memorbilia, and football game admission.  (Please note that Band Parents' Day admission is not LU Family Day Admission, which will provide a different set of elements for the weekend). LU Band members who reside on campus who are planning to attend the banquet will be charged $18.00.  Final Band Parents' Day tickets must be purchased by September 29.  If you have any questions, please contact the band office .

9:15 a.m. Field Rehearsal in Williams Stadium
11:00 a.m. Band Parents’ Banquet (New DeMoss Banquet Center)
1:00 p.m. Uniform Distribution for band members
1:30 p.m. Devotions
2:10 p.m. Inspection (School of Music Building)
2:20 p.m. Depart for Tailgate
2:30 p.m. Perform at Tailgating
2:50 p.m.   Warm-up Arc at Hancock, back patio
3:20 p.m. Pregame Show (to press box side)
3:30 p.m.   Liberty University vs. Gardner-Webb University
