The Liberty University Student Representative Branch exists to allow students the opportunity to make a real difference on our campus. The House of Delegates (HOD) serves as one of the two houses in the Representative Branch and is comprised of Delegates who represent the student body as a whole. The House meets every other week and is a place for students to share ideas, collaborate and grow together as they serve the student body. Delegates are strongly enouraged to join a Committee where ideas are debated and legislation is crafted. Apply to be a delegate and make a difference at Liberty University.
A New Jersey native, Christian Lasval fell in love with Liberty University from the moment his tour began in the Spring of 2015. The more he learned about Liberty, the more he loved what the school was about. He believed in Dr. Falwell and in his vision and he admired the way Jerry Falwell Jr. was rapidly advancing his father’s vision in leaps and bounds beyond what most thought possible. Upon arriving at Liberty in the Fall of 2017, he immediately sought to join student government, and the best place to start was in the House of Delegates. By the end of the first semester, he had made a name for himself as a defender of the more conservative guidelines at Liberty University. At the end of his freshman year, in an unlikely victory, the House of Delegates elected him to serve as the Speaker of the House. This year, Christian looks forward to leading the House of Delegates in Christ-like service to the student body. In addition, he hopes to demonstrate the value that the House of Delegates presents as an avenue for students of all majors to craft resolutions for improvements to their extraordinary university.
