CLEP exams are offered at various times on Monday-Friday throughout the school year and summer. CLEP tests are not administered during finals week for both fall and spring semesters.

Fees

Each CLEP test is $130 total, broken down in the following way:

  • Non-refundable $50 registration fee, payable to Liberty University (cash, check, or credit card), due when your form is turned in to reserve a computer.
  • A fee of $80 is charged before students come to the Testing Center when they pay for their exam on the College Board website. See the “Registration Procedures” below for more information

Registration Procedures

There are three easy steps to taking CLEP exams:

Step 1: When you are ready to take your CLEP exam, go to clep.collegeboard.com and pay for the exam by creating a My Account. The CLEP fee is $80. After you pay, you will need to print your Registration Ticket and bring it with you on the day of your exam.

Step 2: Pay the Administrative Fee of the exam using the Testing Services Payment Portal. This portal will also allow you to schedule the date of your exam.

Step 3On your test day, if you are driving onto campus without a parking decal, go to the Hancock Welcome Center to obtain a visitor’s pass. Afterwards, come to the Testing Center with a form of ID (ID must have a photo AND a signature – A driver’s license works great).

Please also review the following Check-In Policies before you come to take your exam.
That’s it! After following these three steps, you can take your exam.

Changes, Cancelations, and Retaking Exams

  • You may change the test you take, as long as it is at your appointed time. If you cannot keep your appointment, you must cancel and re-register by contacting Testing Services at testingservices@liberty.edu.
  • You must wait at least 3 months to retake a CLEP exam. This is a CLEP requirement.
