The 2014/15 Flight Team

Our Team

The Liberty University's School of Aeronautics is a member of the National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA) and our flight team has taken part in annual competitions on both regional and national levels since 2002. The team has won their regional competition (Region X) for the last ten years and they most recently placed 5th at this years 2014 National SAFECON competition hosted by Ohio State University.                                                  



Team Coaches: Sean Clayton, Jame Curry and Zach Floto.

Team Coaches

This years Flight Team coaches are Sean Clayton, James Curry and Zach Floto. They have been working hard to maintain the high standards that our pilots have displayed over the last number of years and they helped lead our team to win first place at this years Region X Competition in October.

They are now preparing our team to compete in the upcoming National SAFECON competition hosted by Ohio State University, May 11-16, 2015.


Flight Team Advisor

Mr. John Marselus is the Associate Dean of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) at the School of Aeronautics. He is also the NIFA Flight Team Advisor and he will be accompanying the team to the competitions to provide support for all the Flight and Ground events.
