Dr. Brianne Friberg is a native of Lynchburg, Va. As an undergraduate, she attended Mary Washington College, where she earned a B.S. in Psychology. She attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison, earning her M.S. and Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies with an emphasis on child development and early intervention and program evaluation. While at the University of Wisconsin, she also received two years of advanced training in working with families and children with special needs through the Waisman Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities. Her research interests include child development within a context of risk, the role of parenting processes, and program evaluation.
During her time in Madison, she met her husband, Brian, who was serving as a worship pastor at her church. The two were married in 2003. They now have a son, Keenan, and an energetic miniature schnauzer. She and her family attend Gospel Community Church, where Brian is an Associate Pastor.
