Liberty University now offers one convenient source to help you get the technology that you need for your education: The IT Marketplace! To get started, select the appropriate category to the right or keep reading to find out what we recommend.
The most important technology that you will need at LU is a computer and Liberty’s IT Marketplace offers several kinds of computers depending on what you want and need for your classes. Liberty has partnered with Dell, Lenovo, and Apple to offer students discounts on computers from all three manufacturers.
Students are also able to bring their own computers from home to use on Liberty’s campus. If you will be bringing your own computer, we recommend the following hardware specifications so that you can comfortably run multiple applications as well as take full advantage of Liberty’s network:
· Dual core processor
· 2 GB RAM (3 GB if using Windows Vista)
· 60 GB hard drive
· 128 MB of video memory
· Wireless-N is recommended, but not mandatory

Liberty has also partnered with multiple software vendors to offer students great discounts on some of the software that they need for their computers, too. The Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Access, OneNote, etc.) is available at a substantial discount from the IT Marketplace, along with much of the software that is required by individual classes in a variety of majors.
The IT Marketplace also has a wide variety of computer accessories available for students to purchase, such as printers, blank CD’s and DVD’s, computer monitors, digital cameras, and much more!

All recommended Dell and Lenovo bundles purchased through the IT Marketplace come with a 4 year manufacturer's warranty and are eligible for on-campus service and repair at the IT HelpDesk for the entirety of their warranty. All Apple computer purchase's have the option of choosing no warranty, a 3 year manufacturer's warranty, or 4 year manufacturer's warranty that is eligible for on-campus service and repair at the IT HelpDesk for the entirety of their warranty. We are also able to perform certain repairs on Dell, Lenovo and Apple laptops that were not purchased through Liberty’s IT Marketplace, but this service depends on the type of warranty, damage, and other factors.
All customers who purchase software through the IT Marketplace can receive installation assistance by Liberty University's IT HelpDesk for free. You can call, stop in, or visit the HelpDesk website for free IT assistance.
Even if the IT HelpDesk is unable to repair your computer, we can still troubleshoot the problem, make sure that you understand what is wrong, and offer you advice on how to get your computer repaired. We can also try to help you recover data from your computer if you have certain kinds of problems, as well as recommend the best way to protect your data (external hard drive, flash drive, etc.) based on the amount and type of data you have.
Please see the following return policies for complete details as GovConnection and Apple will handle returns for purchases made through their stores. Liberty University is not responsible for the products you order through the IT Marketplace.
