Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary recently received approval from the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS)to offer a Ph.D. in Theology and Apologetics.
The 54-hour program, to be offered this fall, requires seminars in Theology and Apologetics with optional seminars in Church History and Biblical Studies. The seminars will include traditional classroom instruction along with one-week intensives and individualized computer-assisted coursework.
Dr. Dan Mitchell, academic dean for the seminary, said the program is a big step forward.“The Ph.D. in Theology and Apologetics is a milestone that at once marks our dedication to excellence in the Seminary and our commitment to engaging the culture at the highest levels with the truth of the Gospel.”
