Estate honors Liberty with gift of over $800,000

The estate of Wesley E. Olson recently sent Liberty University a bequest of more than $832,000. Including this most recent gift, his estate has given the university a total of nearly $1 million.

Olson, of Big Stone County, Minn., died on May 25, 2005, and was an active church member. He was a licensed lay speaker with the United Methodist Church and served with the Gideons and in prison ministry. Olson held both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in teaching and was a substitute teacher for many years while farming full time. He was a lifelong learner who loved books and writing.

Olson was a strong supporter of Liberty and a regular donor from the early 1990s until his death.
