Welcome Transfer Students!

This page is designed to provide you with pertinent information as you begin your first semester here.  As a transfer student, connections you establish for your college life in these first days and weeks at Liberty are vital for a positive transition.

We know you have questions based on your previous college or university experience, and we want to get you started on the path to academic success. You'll meet key people who can help you navigate this major transition in your academic career.

  • Transfer students are strongly encouraged to attend a special Transfer Student Welcome Breakfast on Friday, Aug. 16th.

  • Transfer students who successfully transfer 11 credit hours* or less are required to attend New Student Seminar will be held Thursday, Aug. 15, and Friday, Aug. 16. If this pertains to you, please visit the New Student Seminar page for further details.
    • *NOTE: Dual enrollment, CLEP and AP credit do NOT count toward the 11 credit minimum.  Please contact frsm@liberty.edu if you're unsure of your transfer status--we can help you verify whether you need to attend New Student Seminar. 
  • Specific locations and times will be listed in the Fall 2013 Welcome Week Booklet and posted online mid-summer.

What is New Student Seminar?

  • New Student Seminar is a one-day class designed to facilitate academic, spiritual and social development and provide interaction with faculty/staff to introduce high academic expectations prior to the start of the student's first semester at Liberty University.

What New Student Seminar activities will I attend?

  • Thursday, Aug. 15, you will attend the "Chancellor's Kickoff" in Williams Stadium. This event is a catered picnic dinner, welcome from Chancellor Jerry Falwell, Jr., and introduction to Liberty athletic traditions and cheers.
  • Friday, Aug. 16, you will attend:
  1. Convocation
  2. "Keeping It Safe" seminar
  3. "Academic Success" course led by a Liberty University faculty member
  4. "Meet and Greet" reception with key faculty and other students in your chosen major
  5. Question & Answer Session 
  • Specific locations and times will be listed in the Fall 2013 Welcome Week Booklet and posted online mid-summer.

Liberty's Parent Programs Office prepares and guides parents during the transitional phase of becoming a supportive Liberty parent and provides information regarding University resources, campus events and activities.
