Blackboard Training
The Center for the Advancement of Faculty Excellence (CAFE) is invested in partnering with faculty to provide a quality experience for Liberty University’s student population. In pursuit of this goal we have developed an extensive set of Blackboard Tutorials and are offering online and residential Blackboard Workshops to all faculty members.

Open forums will be Q&A sessions for online and residential faculty.

This course will present a basic overview of Blackboard, the menu and tools link, as well as the basic function of the control panel.

This course will teach the basics of organizing content, building, assignments and creating course links.

This class will cover the Blackboard Utilities of Export and Import, as well as Blackboard's tools for moving content within a course.

This course will teach faculty the process of building and grading discussion boards.

Faculty will learn how to create and manage Groups in Blackboard. This includes using Graded forums and Advanced Group Management

This course will cover the use of Safe Assign. Faculty members will learn how to create assignments, recheck student work, and interpret Safe Assign Reports.

This class will involve best practice for creating test pools, and deploying tests. It will also include an overview of question types and special which hold pictures. Also, "what not to do."

This session will discuss the creation, deployment and use of Rubrics.

This course will provide an example of what students see when they interact with online courses, including assignments, emailed announcements, grades and feedback.

This course will teach faculty members to interpret and use the standard Grade Center columns, column organization.

This course will discuss downloading and uploading the Grade Center, bulk downloading assignments.

Creating schemas, dropping scores and exempting scores.

This class will cover the installation and use of Repsondus, and formatting test pools for Respondus.

This class will train faculty members how to create PointCast presentations, save them, and deploy them into Blackboard courses.

This course will discuss how to integrate media, such as YouTub, Prezi, Camtasia, etc. Into Blackboard courses.
