  • $50 application fee
    • Alumni of Liberty will have their application fee waived when they submit a paper application (one time only).
    • Active Military men and women will have their application fee waived when they submit a paper application.
  • Regionally or nationally accredited bachelor’s degree with at least a 3.0 GPA for admission in good standing (admission on caution is on a case-by-case basis)
    • Official college transcripts (must be mailed directly from your college to Liberty University in an official, sealed envelope)
  • Self-Certification Form (for students in the final term of their bachelor's degree)
  • Prerequisites (Must be taken prior to admission): 18-30 UG credit hours in history (lower or upper-level hours)
    • It is preferred that the student has 30 prerequisite credit hours
  • 300-500 word Statement of Purpose - The Statement of Purpose should include your goals for your intended academic program, as well as, an explanation of what you hope to gain from and contribute to the program.
  • Two Faculty Letters of Recommendation are required (must be on University or Company letterhead with a signature)
  • 10-12 page research paper in the Turabian (Chicago Manual) format
  • GRE: The applicant must have a minimum score of 155 in the verbal and quantitative sections and 3.5 in the analytical writing section of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).
  • Current Liberty undergraduate applicants must complete Graduation Application.
