Rob Ritchie has been married for 27 years and has three sons, Robbie (25), Stephen (20), and James (15). He has taught every aspect of the Social Studies at the high school level while enjoying a homemaker and homeschooling his boys.
Rob grew up in the west-end of Richmond, joined the Marines when he was 17 and was saved that year by Grace. It was not until 1983, however, that he publicly professed his faith and began walking with the Lord. He has nurtured a life-long interest in Biogeography, particularly plant and animal systematic and ranges. Hobbies include jogging (slowly), bicycling, and reading.
Mr. Ritchie earned a B.A. from the Citadel in history, and an M.A. from American Military University in Military Studies. Continuing education includes coursework from the University of Virginia, Old Dominion University, Virginia Commonwealth University, Christopher Newport and California State University-Dominguez Hills. This coursework was completed in conjunction with the performance of military duties. Mr. Ritchie is a retired former-Marine Captain with 23 years total active/reserve service. Future coursework planned includes a PhD in geographic education at Texas State University (San Marcos) in 2009.
Mr. Ritchie feels extremely blessed to have achieved, by God's Grace, his 15 year goal of becoming a professor at Liberty University, and believes that the sacrifices made by both he and his family have been worth it to receive the joy that comes from serving God where their talents, such as they are, can be used. The Ritchie's covet your prayers as they begin their service in His Ministry here at Liberty University.
