The Liberty University Department of Music and Humanities is charged with preparing students for a life of professional Christian service in the artistic community. It is often necessary to provide financial assistance to exceptionally talented students wishing to avail themselves of musical training in the unique Christian environment Liberty University provides. Therefore, the Liberty University Department of Music and Humanities awards merit-based music scholarships to qualified keyboardists, instrumentalists, and singers.
On-site auditions are conducted to evaluate the performance capabilities of applicants. These auditions are usually scheduled during College-for-a-Weekend activities. Applicants should be prepared to perform a variety of selections from the standard artistic repertoire. In lieu of an on-site audition, applicants may submit audio or videotapes for consideration.
The application process for scholarships must be completed and all materials received no later than February 1; applications received after that date cannot be considered.
Performance area coordinators in consultation with the chairperson will assign scholarships are based on merit and availability. For specific information about scholarship consideration, please contact the area coordinators.
