MAT/M.Ed. Candidates

  • This application is a new, web-based application that will provide a more streamlined experience through the Gate 2 process. If you have already started your Gate 2 application through LiveText, we recommend you finish the application there. However, if you have not started your Gate 2 application, please feel free to use this resource.

Ed.S./Ed.D Licensure Candidates

Upon successful completion of 9-15 credit hours, submit Gate 2 LICENSURE Application

NOTICE: All Elementary and Secondary MAT candidates must complete the required content competencies for their endorsement area.


School Counseling Candidates

Upon successful completion of at least one EDUC course (e.g., EDUC 518, EDUC 521, EDUC 600, EDUC 604, EDUC 622 and/or EDCE 501), submit Gate 2 Application for Admission to the M.Ed. in School Counseling Program through LIVETEXT. View directions to complete the Gate 2 application in LiveText. Due to an advising hold, Gate 2 is required for any student to enroll in any courses apart from the six noted above. Bear in mind, in order to receive financial aid you must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per semester and all EDCE courses and EDUC 600 must be completed prior to internship.

In order to be admitted into the M.Ed. in School Counseling Program all students must meet the following before submitting the Gate 2 application:

  • All graduate admission requirements (Gate 1), AND
  • A GPA of no less that 2.5, AND
  • No more than 2 "C"s in courses listed on the DCP in which the student is enrolled, AND
  • No "D"s or "F"s in any course listed on the DCP in which the student is enrolled.

Remain mindful of the following aspects of the Gate 2 application:

  • The Gate 2 application must be fully approved in order to register for certain courses. Therefore, the Gate 2 application must be submitted prior to the course registration deadline, giving at least three weeks for review and course registration processing. 
  • Failure to use appropriate grammar, spelling, and/or punctuation may result in Gate 2 denial.
  • All sections of the Gate 2 application must be completed in their entirety prior to submission or the Gate 2 application will be denied.
