Mrs. Linda B. Kitchel

Assistant Professor

Over 20 years of varied teaching experience from kindergarten to adults---private, Christian and public schools/colleges

I grew up in a Southern Baptist Church in Tidewater, Virginia where my family attended and my great-grandfather had been a charter member.

My father was a peanut farmer and still lives on the farm which has been in the family for over 75 years so I have a strong tie to God’s earth and the life it brings.

I came know the Lord at an early age and gave my life to Him as a teenager; however, after my 1st husband’s death my relationship grew much deeper as He became my husband.

Family is very important to me and I have two daughters, Dr. Angela Olmsted, who teaches at Liberty in the Nursing Department and Mrs. Lorrie Brooks, who teaches 5th grade at Monelison Elementary School in Amherst. Angela is married to John Olmsted, MD and they have two daughters which utilize most of my free time. Lorrie is a 2007 graduate of Liberty and was recently married to Aaron Brooks, who will be a December graduate of Liberty.

I know God brought me to Liberty (2004) without any doubt and I am honored to teach at God’s University and have the opportunity to share what He has done in my life and hopefully help mold lives for His service!
