Dr. David Allison, now in his 38th year on faculty at Liberty University, is an associate professor in the School of Communication & Creative Arts. David serves as the the director of King’s Players of Liberty University and the Director of Forensics. Besides having a BA in speech & drama; a MA in Christianity and drama; and an Ed. D. in education, David has also earned a master's of divinity degree. For eight years he served as department chairman for the drama department. He continues in his 38th year as director of the King's Players drama ministry, the oldest ministry at Liberty. Over 15,000 people have accepted Christ through the King's Players ministry in the past fifty years. One of David's favorite verses is Paul's words to Timothy "to do the work of an evangelist." David spent five year’s in King’s Players while at Asbury College and in grad school. At Liberty, David currently enjoys teaching media and culture, career preparation, oral interpretation, and interpersonal and Small group communication. In the summer He enjoys teaching speech communication to university athletics in the Summer Bridge program.
David has been married thirty-four years to Connie Dowell Allison of Springfield, Missouri. The Allison’s have four sons: Ryan, Philip, Ben and Christopher. Connie is the Enterprise IT Communication Liaison at Liberty University. Philip graduated from LU and is on staff at Liberty. Ben has both a B.S. and a MBA from Liberty and is preparing for law school. Ryan completed three years at LU. Chris is a senior at Liberty and is the team leader for the King’s Players drama ministry.
The Allison’s are active members of Heritage Baptist Church. David works sings in the choir, and Connie is the sanctuary choir director and directs the Solid Rock Teen Choir.
