A friend's 4 yr old daughter ran through the house yelling for her mom Tuesday afternoon and she thought her daughter was going to say "Merry Christmas" but she was humbled to hear her say 'Mommy, tomorrow is Baby Jesus' birthday...Happy Birthday Baby Jesus!" A very humbling moment for adults that a child was more focused on the reason for Christmas as being Jesus' coming as a babe and not about presents.

Growing up, I was raised to believe that Jesus was not born on December 25th - in fact, I grew up not celebrating any of the holidays at all, except for the Passover, which was a very sacred/solemn ceremony. I do not follow the faith I was brought up in, though my focus for this time of the year is not whether or not Jesus was actually born on December 25th. I appreciate this message because it outlines the simple fact that I do appreciate, what I do focus on - that Jesus was a gift from God in order to redeem all of mankind for their sins. There can be no greater gift than that!

We are in the season to celebrate the birth of Jesus, who is our hope of eternal life in heaven. We can cherish the gift of His great love, and know and trust the Promise given to us because we are God's dearly loved children. That's a precious offering! The gift we are celebrating this Christmas is our greatest gift of Hope...His birth! That's worth everything. Merry Christmas!

I remember as a child on Christmas day we would get a bunch of small gifts and then there was always that one "big" gift. Now that I know Jesus I realize that every year my one true big gift was and always will be Jesus Christ!

Christmas is such a beautiful time of year because of our Father sending His only son. The birth of Christ!!! What a birthday to celebrate!!!

Good reflection. 'God gave us a gift: His Son!' This is the purpose for which Jesus was born. But I think that many people have forgotten it. They prefer Santa Claus and they barely remember that it is a time for Jesus' birthday party.
