Important information regarding the required graduate-level writing class/exam

A required graduate-level writing class and online exam have been put in place in order to improve the overall writing level of our graduate students here at Liberty.  Once you have completed registration for your spring courses, you will automatically be enrolled in GRST 500, the graduate-level writing class. You will see the addition of this course reflected in your class schedule within four business days of the completion of your course registration. If you wish to by-pass enrollment in GRST 500, you have the opportunity to test out of the class by passing a writing exam online. After you have been enrolled in GRST 500, you will receive an email from the Graduate Writing Center with instructions on how to go online to complete this exam. If you are successful in passing this exam, you will no longer be required to complete GRST 500.  However, if you do not pass the exam, you will be required to stay enrolled in GRST 500. Please be aware that a $150 test assessment fee is charged to your student account as a new student whether you complete GRST 500 or instead take and pass the online exam.

Seminary Students Only:
In addition to the graduate-level writing course/exam, all LBTS students are required to take a PLACE assessment test.

When: Friday, August 15th
Time: 9:00 AM-12:30 PM (EST)
Location: Campus North - Room 1500

The PLACE Assessment is a survey that helps you discover your unique purpose and how God has equipped you to fulfill it in the Body of Christ, the Church. Completing the PLACE Assessment will help you connect your unique combination of Personality, Spiritual Gifts, Abilities, Passions, and Experiences that God designed to create your unique role in the work of His Kingdom. Our goal is to help you identify your spiritual gifts and abilities so that you can best serve God while at LBTS and in your current and future ministry.

Thank you for taking a moment to stay informed!  We look forward to seeing you at Graduate Orientation.
