James Nance stepped into his role of Fan Experience and Promotions Assistant in June 2017.
In his current role, Nance is responsible for creating and executing marketing plans, developing attendance and revenue generating promotions and coordinating game day activities to improve the fan experience at Liberty's home athletics events. Nance also serves as the Director of the Flames Kids Club. He is the primary marketing contact for Liberty women's soccer, field hockey and men's soccer while also serving as the secondary contact for baseball.
Prior to coming to Liberty, Nance worked in marketing at both Western Carolina (2013-16) and Wake Forest (2015-17). At Western Carolina, Nance served as an Athletics Marketing Assistant. While at Wake Forest, he was an intern (2015-16) before earning the title of Marketing Coordinator (December 2016-May 2017).
Nance earned two bachelor's degrees from Western Carolina in December of 2016 (business administration – sport management and business administration – marketing). At Liberty, he will be pursuing his master's degree in marketing – sports marketing and media, which he expects to complete in May 2019.
Originally from Elkin, N.C., Nance currently resides in Lynchburg.
