A member of the Liberty baseball staff since August of 2014, Blake Hunt works with the catchers and hitters and is responsbile for field maintenance. During games, he will be the team's first base coach.
Hunt served as the volunteer assistant at Spalding in Louisville, Ky., in 2014. He served as the Golden Eagles' hitting coach and worked with the team's catchers. During games, he was the squad's third base coach. Hunt began his coaching career at his alma mater Charleston Southern as a student assistant in 2013. He helped coach the infielders and hitters. Hunt played at Charleston Southern from 2008-12. The Buccaneers' starting catcher, he played in 107 games during career. As a senior in 2012, Hunt finished the season, hitting .289 overall and .327 in Big South Conference play. A native of Louisville, Ky., Hunt and his wife Tuesday, an athletic trainer for Liberty athletics, live in Lynchburg, Va.
