Natalie Barr enters her second season as a graduate assistant coach for the Lady Flames.

Barr joined Liberty's staff in August of 2016 for Liberty's first season in the BIG EAST Conference. During her first season with the Lady Flames, Barr helped Liberty post an 8-10 mark and finish in second place in the BIG EAST with a 5-2 conference record. The Lady Flames squared off against 10 nationally ranked opponents in 2016, spotlighted by a 2-1 overtime victory against No. 20 American on Oct. 6.

Barr helped instruct five Liberty All-BIG EAST selections in 2016, including her sisters, Bethany and Serena. Serena Barr also went on to earn NFHCA Division I All-America second team honors, becoming the second All-American in program history. Natalie was the program's first All-American, earning the honor in 2015.

Barr played on the Liberty field hockey squad from 2012-15. She holds several single-season and career records for Liberty field hockey. She holds three of the four top spots for single-season goals, with her best year coming in 2013 (19 goals). Barr began her career in 2012 and earned NorPac East Offensive Player of the Year honors and also placed on the NorPac All-Conference Team in both 2012 and 2013. She also was a NorPac All-Tournament Team selection in 2013. Barr was also recognized at the state level, earning VaSID All-State first team accolades in 2012, 2013, and 2015.

Barr also received awards from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) as she was named to the NFHCA All-Region (South) first team in 2013 and 2015 and the second team in 2012.

Barr's success on the field was accompanied by team success as the Liberty field hockey team won two NorPac Championships, made two straight NCAA tournament appearances (2013-14) and won three NorPac East Division regular-season crowns.

Barr also earned recognition for her work in the classroom. She was named a NFHCA Scholar of Distinction her senior year and was on the NFHCA National Academic Squad for all four years.
