Bill Smith joined the Liberty Athletics Communications Staff as an Athletics Communications Graduate Assistant on August 1, 2016.
Smith serves as the primary contact for Liberty field hockey, men's tennis, women's tennis and women's lacrosse.
At the same time, Smith will be working towards his Master of Science in Sport Management – Sport Administration, expected to be completed in May of 2018.
Prior to coming to Liberty, Smith served as the Sports Communications Assistant at Harper College in Palatine, Illinois for over three years. In that role, he was the primary media contact and handled all sports information for 12 Harper athletics teams. He also served as a Writing Specialist in the Harper College Writing Center for nearly three years, assisting students with their essays.
In 2012, Smith earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Communications from Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois after receiving an Associate of Arts degree from Harper College in 2009. In the summer of 2012, Smith served as the media relations intern for the Rockford RiverHawks professional baseball team, an independent league team that played in Loves Park, Illinois.
Smith was a four-year college baseball starter, playing two seasons each at Harper and Trinity.
Smith currently resides in Lynchburg.
