Robert Goodman joined the Flames' athletic department staff as the Associate Athletics Director – Sales and Promotions in May 2017.
In his current position, Goodman directly oversees the marketing for all of Liberty's 20 NCAA Division I sports along with the sale of season and individual game tickets at football, men's and women's basketball and baseball. He helped to create an outbound ticket sales team while working with The Aspire Group for training and best practices. His staff consists of the Director of Fan Experience, Assistant Director of Fan Experience, three graduate assistants and the internship program. Also, Goodman is the cheerleading and marching band administrator.
Goodman brings over 20 years of experience working in college athletics to Liberty. From 2002-16, he served as the Senior Associate Commissioner of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). In that role, Goodman oversaw marketing, sponsorship and tickets and championships. He was also directly responsible for the baseball and men's and women's golf championships while serving as an NCAA Site Representative for men's soccer, women's soccer and women's lacrosse.
Prior to his time at the CAA, Goodman was the Assistant Director of the Virginia Athletics Foundation at his alma mater, Virginia. From 1994-2000, he worked as the Director of Marketing and Promotions at William & Mary. Goodman was a Ticket Manager of the Richmond Braves (1992-94) after he graduated college.
Goodman earned a bachelor's degree in sport management from Virginia in 1992 and a Mini-M.B.A. from Richmond in 2012.
Goodman and his wife, Kristyn, reside in Forest, Va. They have two daughters, Kelsey and Amy. Kelsey is a volleyball player at Roanoke College, while Amy plays volleyball at Eastern Mennonite University.
