Matt Vincent began serving as Liberty's Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance in October 2015.
Vincent serves as the primary compliance contact for field hockey, women's lacrosse, women's tennis, men's basketball and men's soccer.
In his role, Vincent monitors the recruiting process of prospective student-athletes. He also assists with continuing eligibility and NCAA standards. His duties also include educating staff, student-athletes, prospective student-athletes and Liberty constituents on NCAA and conference rules and regulations. In addition, Vincent prepares and submit waivers to assist student-athletes.
Prior to working at Liberty, Vincent gained eight years of experience working in NCAA compliance. He first served as a Compliance Assistant at Central Michigan (2008-09), followed by roles as Compliance Coordinator (2009-12) and Assistant Director of Compliance (2012-13) at Ole Miss. His last stop prior to arriving at Liberty was at Southern Illinois as an Assistant AD for Compliance.
Vincent received his bachelor's degree in kinesiology teaching (K-12) from St. Mary's College (Calif.) in 2001. Vincent earned a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration – Sports Administration from Southeast Missouri State in 2008.
Vincent is also a former college student-athlete, having competed on the football field for three years at St. Mary's and one year at New Mexico State.
Vincent and his wife, Erika, have two kids, Uma (4) and Magnus (2), and reside in Lynchburg.
