A veteran of the athletics department, Mickey Guridy has over 20 years of service at Liberty and currently serves as the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Internal Operations, a position he was promoted to in July 2007. He also served as the Interim Director of Athletics from November 2005 to February 2006.
As Senior Associate Athletics Director for Internal Operations, Guridy oversees various areas of the athletics department, human resources, event management, athletic facilities, sports medicine, strength and conditioning, and sports nutrition. He also handles football scheduling and oversees the men's basketball and baseball programs. He works closely with the Director of Athletics Facilities to ensure facilities are maintained and upgraded. He has worked closely with the Director of Athletics and University administration in the construction of new athletics facilities, including the Williams Stadium expansion, Vines Center practice facility, Osborne Stadium, Liberty Baseball Stadium, the new Liberty Softball Stadium, Clarkson Clubhouse and the Liberty Athletics Center.
Prior to his current position, Guridy served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Business Operations from July 2005 to November 2005.
During his tenure at Liberty, he has also served three years as Assistant Athletic Director for Football Operations (2002-04), five years as Assistant Athletic Director for Budget and Marketing (1997-2001) and four years as the ticket office manager and executive director of the Flames Club (1993-96).
While working with the football program as the Director of Operations, Guridy was responsible for the football budget, scheduling, team travel and training camp organization, while also working closely with the athletics department's marketing department to further the promotion of the Flames' football team.
Also during his tenure at Liberty, Guridy has been the marketing and tournament director for the Big South Basketball Tournament (1995-98), the operations director for the Virginia High School League State Basketball Tournament for five years and has also worked with the Tour DuPont, the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament and many high school tournaments in the Lynchburg area.
A native of Mechanicsville, Va., Guridy completed his bachelor's degree in sport management in 1993 from Liberty and completed his master's degree in business administration at Averett College in September 2000.
Guridy and his wife, Erin, have three sons: Sam (14), Abe (12) and Levi (8), and reside in the Lynchburg area.
